At its final meeting last night, CCSD93's Boundary Committee formally recommended the Proposed Concept shared with the community earlier this month. This recommendation reflects the committee's continued analysis and consideration of community feedback, with a focus on providing equitable educational opportunities for students while responsibly addressing district enrollment and current fiscal realities.

Dear CCSD93 Community,
CCSD93’s Boundary Committee met this week to review the results of our recent community survey and continue its work toward potential boundary recommendations.
As a direct result of community feedback and the committee’s continued analysis, a new Proposed Concept has been developed for consideration. No recommendation has been made, and the Boundary Committee has determined that it will meet again in October to continue its work before finalizing a recommendation for consideration by district leadership and ultimately the Board of Education.
The purpose of this letter is to keep you informed regarding a situation that occurred at Elsie Johnson Elementary School today.
At approximately 12:19 p.m., a Hold in Place Schedule was called to attend to a situation involving an individual in our building in need of assistance. This is part of CCSD93’s Crisis Plan. In a Hold in Place Schedule, students and staff members stay in their classrooms and continue learning until the given situation is resolved. The intent of a Hold in Place Schedule is to preserve the integrity and safety of the individual in need as well as the safety of the other students and staff members in our building.
Students and staff responded appropriately to the Hold in Place Schedule by following directions. It ended at approximately 12:23 p.m. when the individual’s needs were met.
We hope you are enjoying the beginning of the fall season. Our teachers are working hard each day to ensure our students receive the best academic and social emotional leaning in their classrooms and throughout our school.

I am writing to provide a follow-up regarding the mold growth previously identified in Elsie Johnson's server room within the Innovation Center
Thank you for your partnership as we head into fall! We are finishing iReady testing and continuing to monitor your student's growth and learning each day. Our teachers will be diving into our school improvement plan during our early release day later this month. The work they will be engaging in will be directly tied to learning targets, language targets, success criteria and increasing student discourse. Our staff works hard each day to continue to learn and grow in their own pedagogy to support the needs of all their students.
If you were sent a link to this message, our records show that we have not yet received a completed Health Examination Form and immunizations for your child. You have also been sent a personalized email that identifies the child whose form has not been submitted.

CCSD93 will host age-appropriate programs for 4th-8th grade students in September and October designed to equip them with positive, practical mental health resources. The programs will be presented by NAMI DuPage, the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness
Dear Elsie Johnson Elementary School Community,
This message is to make you aware of an environmental concern identified at Elsie Johnson Elementary School and the steps the district is taking to address it.
Recently, mold growth was identified within Elsie Johnson Elementary School's server room within the Innovation Center. Our environmental hygienist partners, Examinetics, have assessed the space. It is a small, independently air-conditioned space that houses the building's computer servers, network switches and related technology equipment. Its air circulation is not shared with any other areas of the building, and students do not have access to the room. The space has no windows and remained closed for much of the summer during a period of increased humidity. These factors likely contributed to conditions that allowed the growth to occur.

Our school year is off to a wonderful start! Teachers are working hard to establish routines and expectations while building strong relationships with students. At the same time, our students are getting to know their school, their teachers, and one another. It has been so exciting to see our school community come together as we begin the year.
As part of CCSD93’s ongoing boundary review process, we invite parents/guardians, staff and community members to attend one of two identical Community Input Nights to learn more about the work underway and provide feedback on two boundary concepts currently being considered.

We’ve been made aware that some families may be encountering issues adding funds to their MySchoolBucks accounts through the MySchoolBucks app to pay for CCSD93 meal service.
If you encounter this issue, here are a few ways to resolve it:
- Use the MySchoolBucks website: MySchoolBucks has confirmed that parent deposits are active and working on their website.
- Refresh the app: Sign out of the MySchoolBucks app completely and sign back in. The app may still contain saved account information from the previous system.
- Reinstall the app if needed: If signing out and back in does not resolve the issue, uninstall and reinstall the MySchoolBucks app, then sign back in.
All of our teachers and staff have been working hard preparing their classrooms and materials for their students. I would like to personally thank all of our staff for the work they have been doing in school, meetings, trainings and behind the scenes for our students and each other. Also, thank you to our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Bagai for all her hardwork and support!

Online registration for the 2026-27 school year is now open! If you haven’t already, please log in to your TeacherEase account and register your student(s) as soon as possible so that we can best prepare your child’s educational experience for next year. Please register no later than April 30, 2026.
If your child will be the age of 5 by September 1, 2026 and you live within Community Consolidated School District 93 (CCSD93)’s boundaries, you are invited to attend virtual Kindergarten Registration online Thursday, February 26 at 7:00 p.m. at www.ccsd93.com/kindergarten.
CCSD93’s award-winning Early Childhood Center (ECC) offers a play-based, nurturing environment where 3- and 4-year-olds learn through exploration, develop independence, strengthen problem-solving skills, build confidence and practice positive group interactions.
To improve how we communicate with you, we’ve updated the phone number we use to send text messages. From now on, our standard text messages will be sent using the local 10-digit phone number: 630-326-6532.
A big component of this is mental health. We know it can be difficult to know where to start when looking for mental health resources. This is why CCSD93 is thrilled to partner with an organization called Referral GPS that makes it easier for families, staff and community members to find the right help for them.
