Celebrating Culture and Creativity: Exploring Frida Kahlo and the Monarch Butterfly

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Elsie Johnson’s Dual Language program launched a schoolwide project with Innovation Center staff where all students are learning about the life and art of famed Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.

School News & Announcements

Key dates for the new school year include new student orientation and student placement/busing notifications on August 12, Meet the Teacher events on August 18, and the first day of school for Grades 1-8 on August 19. Kindergarten will follow a shortened schedule on August 19 and 20 before transitioning to full days on August 21. Preschool Meet the Teacher will be held on August 20, and preschool classes begin on August 24.
